Isaac Ritson

Biography

Isaac Ritson was born in Bridekirk, Cumbria in 1892, the son of Isaac and Jane Ritson, and one of seven children.  The family home was at 71, Beaumont Street, Liverpool, Lancashire.

He served as a first class waiter in the Steward's Department on board the
Lusitania
and he was killed when she was sunk.

His body was not recovered and identified afterwards and he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.  He was aged 23 years.

Cunard records show his forename as William and it is possible that he called himself by this name.
