Biography

James Webb was born in 1888 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, the son of John and Emma Webb.  By 1899, his father had died and his mother ad married a man named William Wrench.  By 1915, the family resided at 2, Claudia Street, Walton, Liverpool, Lancashire.

He engaged as a trimmer in the Engineering Department on board the Lusitania at Liverpool on 13th April 1915 at a monthly wage of £6-0s-0d., £1-0s-0d of which was advanced to him, when he engaged. 

He served as a trimmer in the Department on board the Lusitania and he was killed when she was sunk.  He was aged 27 years.

His body was not recovered and identified afterwards and his name is embossed on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London, as a result.
