Biography
Patrick William Ryan was born in Liverpool, Lancashire on the 16th March 1868, the son of John and Ann Ryan.
He served under the name of Patrick William O'Brien, as a fireman in the Engineering Department on board the
Lusitania and he was killed when she was sunk.
His body was not recovered and identified afterwards and consequently, he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London. He was aged 47 years.
