Biography
There were a number of people named Edward Hughes serving in the Mercantile Marine in 1915 and it has not been possible to identify with any degree of certainty the man who served on board the Lusitania on her final voyage.
A man named Edward Hughes served as an assistant pantry steward in the Stewards' Department on board the Lusitania on her final voyage, but other than this, nothing further is known about him.
He was fortunate to survive the sinking, but no account of his experience is known to exist.
